Vettel moves back to the top in Abu Dhabi

The first day/night session of 2013 saw Sebastian Vettel reclaim the P1 position he held in each session of last week’s Indian Grand Prix. The Red Bull Racing driver finished FP2 with a best time of 1:41.335, one-and-a-half tenths clear of team-mate Mark Webber. Behind them, Lewis Hamilton slotted into third place for Mercedes, narrowly ahead of 2012 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix winner, Kimi Räikkönen of Lotus.

Grosjean tops FP1 in Abu Dhabi

Romain Grosjean operated under the radar for the majority of the first practice session at Yas Island  but popped up in the last few minutes to take the plaudits with a lap of 1:44.241 that included a particularly rapid final sector. For much of the session P1 appeared to be in the keeping of Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton. He eventually had to settle for P2, nearly two-tenths behind.
