Codasur Rally Championship

On a continent where rallying is hugely popular, the FIA CODASUR Rally Championship has provided gravel-based action since 1997. However, border restrictions to control the spread of COVID-19 between various South American nations has meant the CODASUR title has not been awarded since 2019.

Taking its name from the Confederacion Deportiva Automovilismo Sudamericana body, the CODASUR Rally Championship has seen an increasing participation of Rally2 cars over the years and is also open to locally approved ‘Maxi Rally’ vehicles, a formula originally developed in Argentina.

Asia-Pacific Rally Championship

Launched for the 1988 season, the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship is back in 2022 after restrictions resulting from the global health pandemic meant it could not be held in 2020 or 2021.

Because of the huge geographical spread of events and in order to help facilitate and maintain competitor interest, the APRC is split into two distinct four-event mini-series – the Asia Cup and Pacific Cup – with a winner-takes-all finale scheduled at the end of the season.

African Rally Championship

Run for the first time in 1981, the FIA African Rally Championship (ARC) features an all-gravel calendar with events taking place against a backdrop of stunning landscapes across the continent’s Sub-Saharan region.

Thanks to the work and efforts of the involved ASNs and organisers, the ARC continues to prosper, despite the challenges presented by COVID-19.
