The final Free Practice session ahead of the 6 Hours of Circuit of The Americas saw the no8 Audi R18 take the top spot once again with Loic Duval setting a 1m45.719 lap, 1.6 seconds inside the long standing lap record set by Benoit Treluyer back in 2013.  The two Porsche 919s were second and third quickest with the no1 Porsche of Brendon Hartley 0.332s behind the leading Audi. 

The no44 Manor Oreca05 of Roberto Mehri was the quickest in LMP2 with a 1m55.696 lap, just four hundredths faster than the no43 RGR Sport Ligier of Bruno Senna with the no26 G Drive Racing third quickest two tenths further back.

Aston Martin set the two best times in the LMGTE class with Marco Sorensen in the no95 Vantage V8 posting a 2m03.368 lap, 0.8 seconds faster than the no97 Aston Martin of Fernando Rees.  Ferrari were fourth quickest ahead of the no66 Ford which had set the pace in the previous two sessions.  The no88 Abu-Dhabi Proton Racing Porsche was the quickest of the six LMGTE Am runners with Kevin Estre posting a 2m06.038 lap, 0.161s ahead of Pedro Lamy in the no98 Aston Martin.

The scene is now set for qualifying for Round 6 of the FIA World Endurance Championship which gets underway at 17h45 (local).
