International Court of Appeal: Decision hearing 26 September

The following hearing of the International Court of Appeal took place in Paris on Friday 26 September 2014:

Appeal brought by the Real Federación Española de Automovilismo (RFEA) on behalf of its license holder, Campos Racing, against decision n°5 dated 3rd August 2014 of FIA Stewards of the Race of Termas de Rio Hondo (ARG) counting towards the 2014 FIA World Touring Car Championship by which car n°98 (Driver Dusan Borkovic, SRB) was excluded from the results of race two.

On 3 August 2014, on the basis of the FIA Technical Delegate report and after having heard the competitor, the panel of the stewards decided to exclude car n°98 (driver Dusan Borkovic) from Race 2 of the Termas de Rio Hondo (ARG) event, having found that the ground clearance was not in conformity with Appendix J of the International Sporting Code.

On 7 August 2014, the Real Federación Española de Automovilismo (RFEA) on behalf of its licence-holder, Campos Racing, decided to appeal this decision before the International Court of Appeal

Decision of the International Court of Appeal

The Court, after having heard the parties and examined their submissions, decided to uphold decision n°5 of the Race Stewards of the Argentinian competition in Thermas de Rio Hondo counting towards the 2014 FIA World Touring Car Championship.

The International Court of Appeal was presided over by Mr Jan STOVICEK (Czech Republic), and included Mr Michael GRECH (Malta), Mr Philippe NARMINO (Monaco) and Mr Nish Kumar SHETTY (Singapore).
