Verstappen dominates at PF International

A British circuit and heir to a long tradition in karting, PFI launched the hostilities of the 2013 KF World Championship on its selective and demanding track in good weather. A double European Champion, the young Dutchman Max Verstappen (CRG-TM-Vega) headed the competition from qualifying to the final which he won with a big lead. His stunning performance made him the favourite for the World Championship. Behind him, the Dane Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic-Vortex-Vega) led the chase most effectively, followed by the experienced Ben Hanley (ART-GP-TM).

Final suspense in Bahrain

This time, several drivers were highlighted. The closing event of the season first saw Dorian Boccolacci (Energy-TM-Vega) take pole position and enter the qualifying heats in front. But Max Verstappen was gradually returning to the forefront and won the prefinal. He then had the biggest chance to conquer the world title. But the Dutchman would then have to deal with a less powerful machine and finally the Briton Tom Joyner (Zanardi-TM-Vega) was on the attack and won the race. The outcome of the championship was sealed when Max Verstappen went against Nicklas Nielsen who was preparing to overtake. Joyner was therefore able to add his name to the prestigious list of the World Champions in the premier class, ahead of Ben Hanley and Max Verstappen.
