Launch Event
Road safety experts have described ESC (Electronic Stability Control) as “the greatest life-saving technology since the seatbelt”. So why, when the EU is failing to reach its 2010 target to reduce road fatalities by 50%, is ESC installed in less than half of all vehicles across Europe?
The Choose ESC! campaign launch on Tuesday, May 8th in Rome, will for the first time reveal a detailed Europe-wide analysis of ESC market penetration and a cost-benefit study that demonstrates how ESC saves money as well as lives. The FIA is backing the campaign to increase the take-up of this life-saving technology because it will make a hugely significant contribution to avoiding crashes and reducing fatalities on our roads.
