The FIA International Court of Appeal met in Paris on Wednesday, November 21, 2007, to examine an appeal lodged by the Automobile Club d’Italia/Commissione Sportiva Automobilistica Italiana (ACI/CSAI) on behalf of its licence-holder Scuderia Island Motorsport against the decision N°2 taken by the Panel of the Stewards of the Meeting on 7 October 2007 in relation to the 32 ELPA Rally run from 5 to 7 October 2007 in Greece and counting towards the 2007 FIA European Rally Championship.
Having received a report concerning crew N°2 Renato Travaglia-Daniele Varnuccio, the Stewards of the Meeting decided to exclude the car N°2 of the competitor Scuderia Island Motorsport from the event, as the car was not in conformity with Article 254.4 of Appendix J of the International Sporting Code.
Having heard the explanations of both parties and having examined the various documents and other evidence, the Court confirmed the decision of the Panel of the Stewards of the Meeting.
The International Court of Appeal was presided over by Mr Xavier CONESA (Spain), elected President, and composed of Mr Thierry JULLIARD (Switzerland) and Mr Erich SEDELMAYER (Austria).
