The International Court of Appeal met in Paris on Tuesday, July 20, 2004, in order to examine the appeal introduced by the Automobile Club de Monaco on behalf of licence-holder JMB Racing, car N°17: Karl Wendlinger, against decision N. GT-016 made by the Panel of the Stewards on June 27, 2004, concerning the 5-minute time-penalty imposed on car N°17 during the event run at Donington (Great Britain) on June 27, 2004, and counting towards the 2004 FIA GT Championship.
Having heard the explanations of both parties and having examined the various documents and other evidence, the Court quashed the decision of the Panel of the Stewards and substituted a fine of US$ 15,000.
The International Court of Appeal was presided over by Mr Reginald Redmond (Ireland), and composed of Mr Xavier Conesa (Spain), Mr Vassilis Koussis (Greece), and Mr José Macedo e Cunha (Portugal).
