The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile is the governing body for world motor sport and the federation of the world’s leading motoring organisations.
Founded in 1904, with headquarters in Paris, the FIA is a non-profit making association. It brings together 227 national motoring and sporting organisations from 132 countries on five continents. Its member clubs represent millions of motorists and their families.
The FIA has been dedicated to representing the rights of motoring organisations and motor car users throughout the world via campaigns and activities that defend their interests. On issues such as safety, mobility, the environment and consumer law the FIA actively promotes the interests of motorists at the United Nations, within the European Union and through other international bodies.
The FIA is also the governing body for motor sport worldwide. It administers the rules and regulations for all international four-wheel motor sport including the FIA Formula One World Championship, FIA World Rally Championship and FIA World Touring Car Championship.
To strengthen our Legal Department in Geneva we are recruiting a:
Paralegal
Main responsibilities:

General and permanent coordination of the secretariat of the Legal Department – handling queries and requests (telephone, emails, post) and directing them towards the jurists/ sectors concerned

Organising meetings aimed at the monitoring and control of the commercial exploitation of the Championships and organising other contractual working groups, as well as drafting the minutes of all the above meetings.

Providing administrative and legal assistance in the typing, formatting, saving and filing of commercial contracts and services, and in the management of contractual schedules (termination, expiry and renewal).

Typing and formatting the legal opinions of the lawyers.

Creating and updating databases (relating to contractual data and alerts).

By instruction or by dictation, drafting correspondence (e.g. to external law firms, contracting parties, affiliated members), legal summaries, minutes, communications, statements of case and legal opinions.

Administration of the procedures required for issuing invitations to tender or calls for expression of interest (assistance in: drafting and launching the invitations and opening and analysing the offers; compiling comparative tables of these offers; notification of the decision) and commercial contracts and miscellaneous services for the Championships (assistance in: formatting, sending and following-up the contract).

Legal research and drafting summary analyses of statutory decisions, contractual or statutory arrangements.
Skills required:

Legal Assistant or bachelor in law; excellent secretarial skills; capable of taking dictation; fast typing skills; knowledge of shorthand would be very useful.

At least 3-5 years’ experience within a legal environment or law practice.

English mother tongue preferred; perfect spoken and written command of legal English.

Good command of spoken and written French.

Ability to see the big picture and very meticulous; fluent and assured writing skills; accuracy and good attention to detail are a must.

Perfect command of Microsoft Office.
