Article 24 

THE FOUNDING MEMBERS’CLUB

 

Composition : The Founding Members’ Club  shall consist of a representative from each of the 14 founding Members of the FIA.

Presidency : The Presidency of the Founding Members’ Club shall be exercised by one of the founding members for a two-year period, but no more than once over a ten year period, and beginning with the representative of the Automobile Club de France. The President shall be assisted by two Vice-Presidents who shall be designated by the President every two years from among the 14 founding members. The President and the two Vice-Presidents shall propose the President’s successor.

Missions : The Founding Members’ Club shall have the mission of:

• Preserving the history and heritage of the FIA, consistent with Article 2.6 of the Statutes;

• Initiating events and celebrations in relation to the history and heritage of the FIA;

• Proposing to the General Assembly the names of personalities to whom the title of “Président d’Honneur”, “Vice-Président d’Honneur” or “Membre d’Honneur” of the FIA or of its Commissions should be conferred, in accordance with Article 3.7 of the Statutes;

• Giving advice, at the request of the President of the FIA, on matters relating to the FIA’s traditions and fundamental objects.

The Founding Members’ Club may appoint a working group, made up of representatives of the Members of the FIA and/or experts, to carry out any of the above-mentioned missions.

The Founding Members’ Club shall be convened by its President each time he may consider it necessary and at least once a year.

The Founding Members’ Club may invite former Presidents of member organisations of the Founding Members’ Club to attend its meetings
