FIA Elections

Welcome to the 2009 FIA Elections home page.

A number of key elections will take place during the next FIA General Assembly on 23 October 2009. The most prominent of these will be the election of the FIA President and the elections of the members of the World Council Automobile, Mobility and Tourism (WCAMT) and the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC).

To stand for FIA President, each candidate must submit their official application, along with a Team List of deputies and vice presidents, to the FIA Secretariat between 11 September and 2 October.

To stand for a World Council position, National Sporting Authorities and National Automobile Associations must submit nominations by 28 August.

In the interest of transparency and in line with the FIA’s good governance principles, the FIA Secretariat will make public the full list of nominations, and will take a neutral role in providing support and online facilities to promote each Presidential candidate.

All candidates and their Team Lists will be posted on the FIA’s website shortly after they confirm their candidacy for FIA President.
