CIK-FIA & WOMEN & MOTOR SPORT COMMISSION SEARCH FOR A YOUNG KARTER
The FIA Women & Motor Sport Commission and the CIK-FIA have joined forces on a new initiative that will reward a young female kart racer with a funded drive in the 2011 CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy, a low-cost educational formula.
Working in association with the National Sporting Authorities around the globe, 10 young kart racers born between 1996 and 1998 have been selected to take part in a shoot-out in Geneva, Switzerland, on 26/27 April. The selection process will incorporate a mix of theory, presentation and driving activities and the driver deemed to have demonstrated the greatest potential will receive a free entry to the 2011 CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy, along with a Parolin-FIM-LeCont kart and free overalls (the prize excludes testing tyres, fuel, service team and damage to the equipment).
The drivers selected to compete in the evaluation process are:

The 2011 CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy takes place over three races, in addition to the official pre-season test session in June. Following the success of the series, the entry has been increased from 34 to 51 karts this season, and each of the other 50 competitors will represent a different country, providing a truly international competition. All competitors will compete on equal terms in karts provided by the official equipment supplier.
