Formula 3 is the ultimate training ground and talent-spotting formula for the stars of tomorrow. Formula 3 drivers race in both Europe and Asia in cars complying with a similar set of technical regulations throughout the world. Thus, the FIA Formula 3 Intercontinental Cup provides the ideal opportunity to muster the best drivers of the year in a legendary race – the Macao Grand Prix!
Ayrton Senna, Michaël Schumacher, David Coulthard and Ralf Schumacher have all won this exceptional event. So far Italian driver Edoardo Motara is the only one to have clinched the year’s most sought-after victory in Formula 3 twice.
Once again this year, the best Formula 3 drivers from all over the world will vie with one another for victory in the FIA Formula 3 Intercontinental Cup in the fabulous Macao Grand Prix which, this year, celebrates its 60th anniversary. It is the only race that attracts all the best teams and drivers in Formula 3, and they put on an awesome spectacle in the streets of Macao helped by an exceptional circuit, which provides them with a never-ending succession of challenges!
The number of places is limited. Therefore, only the teams and drivers that have shone in a Formula 3 Championship complying with the FIA regulations will be invited to take part in this race. As in this season’s FIA Formula 3 European Championship the technical regulations will comply with the FIA 2013 rules with the exception of the engines, which will be in 2012 configuration.
After the qualifying race comes the Macao Grand Prix itself and the winner will receive the FIA Formula 3 Intercontinental Cup for Drivers, while the best engine manufacturer will be rewarded with the FIA Formula 3 Intercontinental Cup for Engine Manufacturers.
Rendezvous in Macao between 14-17 November 2013 to discover the best Formula 3 driver of the year and the best engine manufacturer!
