| Speaking at the launch will be the FIA President Max Mosley, Euro NCAP Chairman Claes Tingvall, Nicole Nason, Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Viviane Reding, European Commissioner for the Information Society and Media, and the Secretary General of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association Ivan Hodac. The launch will also feature the release by the Euro NCAP of an EU wide ESC availability survey as well as live demonstrations comparing the performance of a car with and without the system engaged.
An international workshop will also compare the ESC experience in major world markets and feature experts from the Australia, Canada, Europe and the USA.
Participants at the event will include all the major stakeholders in intelligent vehicle safety systems including motoring organisations, consumer groups, motor industry and related service suppliers, national authorities from EU member states and representatives of the news media. ‘Choose ESC!’ is an initiative of the eSafety Aware Communications Platform, with the support of the European Commission and the FIA Foundation.
