Rally For Safer Roads – In Pictures
Seven-time FIA Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher meets schoolchildren at the start of the Rally for Safer Roads event.
     
    Michael Schumacher poses for a photo alongside Global Road Safety Commission chairman Lord Robertson and UK Road Safety Minister Stephen Ladyman MP with a class of local schoolchildren to represent the 500 children that die on the roads every day.  
    Schumacher and Stephen Ladyman MP sign the global Make Roads Safe petition, which is calling for a a UN conference on global road safety.  
    FIA President Max Mosley gave a presentation at the Rally for Safer Roads event at One Great George Street, Westminster.  
    Michael Schumacher spoke about the need to take immediate action to cut deaths and injuries worldwide in his presentation at the event.  
    Prince Michael of Kent joined Schumacher on stage to hand out prizes to three school children who had beaten off competition from hundreds of other pupils around the country to write a road safety poem.
