EveryRace Website Promotes F1’s Diversity
Through images and quotes the EveryRace campaign web site highlights the diverse global community of Formula One.

The website for the EveryRace campaign aims to highlight the diverse global community that makes up the FIA Formula One World Championship.

Together, all the Formula One teams represent almost every race and nation across the world. A multitude of nationalities line up on the drivers’ grid for every Grand Prix and many more are represented in the engineering and marketing departments of those teams.

As part of the EveryRace campaign, the FIA commissioned award-winning photographer Darren Heath to shoot a series of portraits of these people (some well known and some less so) that form part of the Formula One community.

At the 2008 Malaysian Grand Prix more than 50 representatives of all the teams competing in Formula One sat for the ‘Faces of Racing’ portraits.

The EveryRace website now features a montage of these ‘Faces of Racing’ highlighting the diverse global community that is so fundamental to Formula One’s character.

McLaren Mercedes driver Heikki Kovalainen, who is one of those faces, said: “We should celebrate the diversity in motor sport. I am proud to be part of the global community that makes up Formula One.”

Red Bull Racing driver David Coulthard, another participant in the campaign, added: “Ever since I’ve been old enough to understand the meaning of the word racism, I’ve known it is wrong. For racism to exist in 2008 is totally unacceptable. This worthwhile campaign from the FIA shines a spotlight on something that sensible people everywhere should take for granted.”

As the campaign develops throughout this season and beyond, competitors from the FIA’s wide range of championships will be included in regularly updated versions of the ‘Faces of Racing’ and ‘Faces of Rallying’ portraits to create a montage genuinely representative of the international motor sport community.
