Bosch Awarded FIA World Prize  
The FIA Academy has awarded its annual World Prize for Road Safety, the Environment and Mobility to German technology group Bosch for its outstanding contribution to the promotion of road safety.
 
 
 
     
FIA Backs Eco-Driving Initiatives  
Eco-driving, or driving in an ecological way, could reduce road transport CO2 emissions by 10 per cent, saving an estimated 375 million tons worldwide. This is why the FIA is backing a number of eco-drive initiatives around the world.
 
 
     
Campaigning To Make Cars Green  
The ‘Make Cars Green’ Declaration adopted at the FIA General Assembly will form the basis for a year of campaign work, led by the FIA, to promote recommendations to lower the impact of cars on the environment.
       
Excellence Rewarded at FIA Gala  
The 2007 FIA Institute Centre of Excellence trophy was presented to the Bahrain International Circuit in a pre-awards ceremony at the FIA Gala in the Monaco Sporting Club. The BIC is the first Grand Prix circuit to receive the prestigious award, which aims to encourage and incentivise excellence in all aspects of motor sport safety.
 
     
Sensors Earmarked for F1 Safety  
The FIA institute has developed the first prototype of an ear accelerometer specifically for use by drivers in the FIA Formula One World Championship.
 
 
 
 
     
Rally Teams Embrace Safety Plans  
The four manufacturer teams in the FIA World Rally Championship have delivered the critical components for the FIA Institute’s new side impact safety system in time for the Monte Carlo rally, the first round of the 2008 season.
       
Russian and US Road Safety Efforts Rewarded  
The Russian and US governments have each received a prestigious road safety award for their efforts to reduce road injuries in their countries and internationally at a ceremony in London.
 
 
 
     
Road Safety Call For African donors  
The Africa Infrastructure Consortium (ICA) which is leading a global effort to promote investment in African infrastructure, including roads, discussed the continent’s road safety issues at a major conference in Tunis in December.
 
 
 
     
UN Climate Conference sees EcoMobility Launch  
The FIA Foundation has become a founder member of a new Global Alliance for EcoMobility, which aims to promote sustainable transport choices giving people living in cities the option of walking and cycling rather than relying on the car.
