World Council Members Elected

FIA delegates met in Rome to elect members
of the World Council.

     
  In addition to the election of the President, the FIA General assembly elected the members of the World Motor Sport Council and the World Council for Mobility and the Automobile.
 
 
The vote took the form of a secret ballot with representatives from each of the 93 countries present at the assembly called forward one by one to deliver their ballot papers. This was followed by five scrutineers selected at random from the assembly to ensure that the ballot papers were counted legitimately.

The verdict was delivered at the end of the assembly meeting. The following members were elected to the World Motor Sport Council: Jacek Bartos (Poland), Morrie Chandler (New Zealand), Nick Craw (USA), Vassilis Despotopoulos (Greece), Carlos Gracia (Spain), John Large (Australia), Radovan Novak (Czech Republic), Lars Osterlind (Sweden), Paulo Eneas Scaglione (Brasil), Enzo Spano
(Venezuela), Graham Stoker (Great Britain), Antonio Vasconelos Tavares (Portugal), Surinder Thatti (Tanzania) and Masami Yamaguchi (Japan).

The following members were elected to the World Council for Mobility and the Automobile: Carlos A.V. Barbosa (Portugal), Swapan Sadhan Bose (India), Robert Darbelnet (USA), Gerard Ee (Singapore), David Flewelling (Canada), Brian Gibbons (New Zealand), Arthur Hedges (USA), Jan Johansen (Norway), Ed Kok (South Africa), Zoltan Kovacs (Hungary), Lauchlan McIntosh (Australia), Peter Meyer (Germany), Tunku Mudzaffar (Malaysia), Carlos Macaya Ortiz (Costa Rica), Boris Perko (Slovenia), Edgar Schorderet (Switzerland) and Thierry Willenmarck (Belgium).
