2014 FIA Mobility Conference - Partner : Pirelli

In 2014, Pirelli and the FIA signed a partnership agreement which strengthen the link between Pirelli and FIA mobility clubs.

Pirelli is one of the key global players in the tyre industry and the world leader in the premium segment, focusing on high levels of technology. Founded in 1872, it has a presence in more than 160 countries, with 22 production facilities spread over four continents, and 38,000 employees.

Pirelli has been represented in motorsport since 1907, which has continuously provided the company with opportunities to further increase its technology and know-how. The Italian firm is currently the exclusive supplier to the FIA Formula One World Championship, in a three-year agreement from 2014-2016, as well as exclusively supplying the Superbike World Championship and numerous other motorsport series all over the world.

As well as performance, Pirelli is also renowned the world over for safety. Road safety, together with respect for the environment, form the two cornerstones of Pirelli’s Green Performance strategy, upon which all the Group’s commercial and industrial decisions are based. Pirelli’s commitment to road safety is implemented by several training and public information programmes, but above all through research and development into technology that will encourage more sustainable mobility.

The importance of this proactive involvement in road safety cannot be underestimated. And this is why, when renewing the contract with the FIA Formula One World Championship, Pirelli and the governing body of world motorsport also agreed to discuss the framework of a partnership to promote road safety via the FIA Action for Road Safety campaign.

More details of this partnership will be revealed later this year at the FIA Mobility Conference, of which Pirelli is a sponsor.

Representatives of automobile clubs from all over the world will meet from September 16-19 in Melbourne, to discuss and exchange ideas about road safety and mobility. An opportunity that Pirelli could not afford to miss, underlining the company’s firm commitment to a more sustainable future.
